"...Sabbath keeping is trans-denominational and an act of obedience and worship towards God."
Regarding (the college's Christian clubs) and the larger Christian community, one task...would be to help them see that Sabbath keeping is trans-denominational and an act of obedience and worship towards God. Another area that badly needs rectification would be the reason for the initial reluctance and resistance: the stigma that it has been attached with due to the legalistic approach the Pharisees took to enforce it and Jesus’ subsequent disapprobation. Due care must be taken to differentiate the Sabbath keeping of (your church) (from) that of the Pharisees.
"...take pains to ensure that the only driving force behind (your Sabbathkeeping) is the desire to do what is pleasing before the Lord so that His name may be magnified."
Notwithstanding the aforementioned, (a Sabbathkeeper) would always do well to frequently assess his reason for honoring the Sabbath. He should take pains to ensure that the only driving force behind is the desire to do what is pleasing before the Lord so that His name may be magnified. Due to our inherent sinful nature, good intentions and convictions can easily degenerate into self pride and hence blemish the act. This self assessment should also be applied to all areas of Christian life, hence Ellen G. White’s caution: "The class who do not feel grieved over their own spiritual declension, nor mourn over the sins of others, will be left without the seal of God".
Taking into due consideration that (the Christian club you're about to join) is also an inter-denominational fellowship, you should commit your plans to the Lord and allow Him to enlighten and guide you on the best approach. One thing is for certain though: a living example bears the most effective testimony to the veracity and potency of any claim.
